NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University's John Merritt Classic football game with Alabama A&M will be blacked out in the Nashville area on Comcast Cable. The game, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. will be available on CSS throughout the southeast outside of the Nashville market. "This is an important event for our university, and we hope that as we grow, our attendance will allow for local telecast," said Teresa Phillips, TSU Director of Athletics. "However, it will bring great exposure to the event and our program to have the game available on television throughout the southeast region." The John Merritt Classic will be held for the seventh year. This marks the first time that the game has been telecast. CSS serves the southeast going into 11 states and is available in 4.3 million homes. Tickets for the John Merritt Classic are on sale. For information, telephone the TSU Ticket Office at 963-5841.
