NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tuesday followed the same plan for the Tennessee State football team as each of the previous three practices. But the intensity really picked up during the second half of practice.
As in each day, the seven-on-seven drills and the live 25 play session started to intensify with each side of the ball exploding with enthusiasm on big plays.
The day also marked the second day in helmets and shoulder pads, which led to more explosive hitting. After receiving a solid blow on an outside run, running back Milton McClain returned the favor by powering over a defensive back on a run up the middle.
The day ended when O’Shay Ackerman-Carter went over the top for a 60-yard pass play to Isaiah Jeffries-Freeman.
The Tigers will upgrade on Wednesday to full pads for the first time this fall. Practice time will remain at 9:15am and is open to the public.
