NASHVILLE --- On a beautiful day at Ted Rhodes Golf Course, the Tennessee State football team celebrated the ninth annual “Tee Off with the Tigers” Golf Tournament. Supporters of the TSU Athletic Department gathered for 18 rounds of golf in a fundraiser for the football program.
“I think today was another successful day. We had a great time out here with ‘Tee Off with the Tigers,’” TSU Football Head Coach Rod Reed said. “The weather finally held up, and I thank everybody who came out. It was an awesome time. I’d like to give a special thanks to Aramark who provided the food and all of our corporate sponsors – Freeman Webb Mortgage. Thanks to 560 AM for coming out to broadcast this event. It’s only going to get bigger and bigger. I feel good about where we’re going with this event. I’m so blessed and pleased to see all the people who came out to support Big Blue Football.”
In the four-player scramble, the team named the Atlanta Tigers finished first with a score of 52. Second and third place went to South Street (54) and Hood, Brown, Henderson and Dudley (57).
Following the golf action, the teams enjoyed lunch in the clubhouse and a raffle with various prizes ranging from TSU hats and sweatshirts to gift certificates to a number of restaurants in Nashville.
Nashville Sports Radio (WNSR 560 AM and 95.9 FM) carried a live broadcast of The Bill King Show and The Greg Pogue and Big Joe Show in the clubhouse throughout the morning.
