NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State University athletics department announced the launch of a new campaign focused on growing the number of football season ticket holders. ‘Drive for Five’ is an effort to sell 5,000 football season tickets for the 2019 campaign.
“TSU Football has a 2019 home schedule that is as attractive as any in the country,“ said Director of Athletics Teresa Phillips. “With two HBCU rivals...Mississippi Valley in the home opener at Nissan Stadium and Arkansas Pine Bluff on campus in Hale as well as four conference games, a season ticket is a great buy for Tiger fans. Selling 5,000 season tickets with our “Drive For Five” is a goal that I believe the Big Blue nation can make happen! Buy your tickets now!!!”
The “Drive for Five’ campaign is an initiative that will aid in the department’s goal of increasing season ticket sales while driving fan engagement and allowing Tiger supporters the opportunity to show their Big Blue pride.
Now more than ever, Tiger fans are being asked to step forward and make a difference for TSU athletics. By participating in the ‘Drive for Five’ campaign and/or donating to the program, fans are helping to support nearly 300 student-athletes.
In addition to the substantial financial savings gained with purchasing the package, there are many benefits of being a season ticket holder. Season ticket holders have priority seating, parking options in the preferred lot and access to season ticket holder gifts.
As an added incentive to drive season ticket sales, those who refer at least one person that opens a new account, will receive a 50% off special on TSU gear sold during one of the Hale Stadium games.
Another special enticement to recruit new season ticket holders provides a reward to those who bring more into the Big Blue fold. The top three recruiters who have the most referrals that result in new accounts will receive a gift card to purchase TSU paraphernalia from the athletics booth during the John Merritt Classic. First place will receive $100 while second and third place will win $75 and $50 respectively.
