OPENING TIP: In the first game of the Ohio Valley Hardwood Showcase, the Tennessee State men’s basketball team will host Carver on Thursday night at the Gentry Center at 6 p.m. Carver competes at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) level. 

LAST TIME OUT: TSU fell to 0-2 on the season with an 83-67 home loss to Little Rock on Tuesday night. Down just one at the half, the Tigers could not overcome the hot shooting of the Trojans, who shot 66.7 percent from the floor in the second half. Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey led the offense with 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting.

ALL-TIME SERIES: TSU and Carver are squaring off for the first time.

FOR THREE: Seven different Tigers have made three pointers so far this season led by six from Michael Littlejohn. The Tigers are averaging 33.0 attempts from three-point range per game through two games and are shooting 33.3 percent from distance.

BUSY SCHEDULE: After not opening the season until Nov. 10 at Lipscomb, TSU is in the midst of a stretch that includes four games in eight days. The schedule includes Lipscomb (Nov. 10), Little Rock (Nov. 13), Carver (Nov. 15) and Fisk (Nov. 17).

UP NEXT: The Tigers conclude their homestand on Saturday with a 7 p.m. matchup with Fisk at the Gentry Center.
