Trey Meyer joined the Tennessee State University men's basketball staff as a graduate assistant in summer 2009. Meyer will handle all aspects of the men's basketball program's administrative duties as well as team travel, academic progress, on campus recruiting, film editing, and summer camps.
Meyer, a native of North Augusta, S.C., graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2009.
During undergrad, Meyer played at Erskine College in Due West, S.C. He later transferred to Clemson and worked under Head Coach Oliver Purnell as a student assistant for three years. While at Clemson, the Tigers won a total of 72 games in three years and made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
In 2010, Meyer co-founded the Rising Coaches Elite Organization which is designed to help Division 1 men's basketball support staff members become assistant coaches. The organization has had over 120 attendees in the past two years while having speakers from all over the country.
Meyer received his master's degree in Sports Administration in May, 2011. He is married to Ashley Meyer who is set to graduate in December from nursing school at Clemson University.
