Matt Richardson completed his first season on the Tennessee State men’s basketball coaching staff as the Video Coordinator in 2017-18. Richardson is responsible for the breakdown of game video, aids in scouting opponents and coordinating film exchange
The Tennessee native, who played basketball at nearby Ravenwood High School, arrives at TSU after serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the University of Pittsburgh men’s basketball team for the 2016-17 season. During his time at Pitt under Head Coach Kevin Stallings, Richardson focused on player development, recruiting and scouting.
Richardson began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Benet Academy High School in Illinois during the 2014-15 season. He also worked summer basketball camps at Vanderbilt during his time in high school and college.
Richardson graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2014 with a degree in Journalism and Electronic Media.
