Women?s Cross Country Hosts First Meet Since 2000
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tigerbelles hosts rival Alabama A&M on Friday in their only home meet of the season.
Tennessee State is coming off of a solid performance last weekend in the Commodore Classic. Oteia Prince led the way for TSU with a time of 20:33.63 followed by Breanna Adams (22:35.44), Michelle Bradley (22:36.62), Diera Taylor (23:14.42) and Jasmine Owens (23:24.89). Ashontae Jackson (24:55.56) and Harze (27:58.87) ran non-scoring times, while India Smith withdrew half way through the race due to an injury.
TSU will be pitted against fellow HBCU Alabama A&M who also participated in the Commodore Classic a week ago. Keyonna McIntyre paced A&M with a time of 21:02.33.
The meet is the first home meet since 2000 when the Tigerbelles hosted the Bulldogs as well. TSU and A&M will rekindle the rivalry on Friday with a dual meet on Tennessee State campus at 4:30 p.m.
