TSU Prepares for APSU Cross Country Festival

APSU CROSS COUNTRY FESTIVAL
Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016
Hildale Baptist Church Family Life Center – Clarksville, Tenn.
WOMEN (5K): 9 a.m.  |  MEN (4 MILES): 9:30 a.m.

STARTING LINE:  The Tennessee State cross country teams will make the short trip to Clarksville, Tenn. to compete in the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24. It is the second weekend in a row the teams are in action. The women will run a 5K at 8 a.m. followed by the men’s 4-mile race at 8:30 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT: Kenyana Hampton (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned a ninth-place finish to pace the women’s cross country team at the Asics Embry-Riddle Classic on Sept. 17. Hampton, who clocked in at 20:02.13, helped the Tigerbelles secure a fifth-place finish. On the men’s side, the Flying Tigers ran their first 8K of the season, taking seventh place overall. Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) finished 13th overall with a 27:50.82 time.

UP NEXT:  TSU travels to Louisville, Ky. for the Louisville Sports Commission Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1. Action will begin at 8 a.m. with the men running an 8K and the women running a 5K.
