Quamel Prince Becomes TSU's First-Ever OVC Cross Country Male Runner of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- Following his performance at the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival, senior Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) is the first-ever TSU men’s cross country runner to earn Ohio Valley Conference Male Runner of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Prince, who has been TSU’s top runner in all three races this season, posted a 13th place finish with a time of 22:32 in the four-mile race at the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival on Sept. 24.

In the first event of the season, Prince turned in a time of 16:09.9 at the Belmont Opener. He followed up on Sept. 17 with a 27:50.82 finish for 13th place in the 8K at the Asics Embry-Riddle Classic.

During his time at TSU, Prince has enjoyed a standout career that includes three OVC gold medals in the 800m and two trips to the NCAA East Preliminary Round for the 800m.

The Flying Tigers are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 1, for the Louisville Sports Commission Cross Country Classic.
