NASHVILLE --- In the final meet of the season, the Tennessee State men’s cross country team turned in a 12th place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship at Percy Warner Park in the 8K on Saturday morning.
Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) concluded his strong season by taking TSU’s top spot for the fifth time this year in 27:29.8, which was good enough for 53rd place. As a team, the Flying Tigers had a score of 367 for 12th place.
Freshman Zebedee Lunsford (Anniston, Ala.) was the second TSU finisher, crossing the finish line in 31:11.9. Jontue McDowell (Jacksonville, Fla.) finished third on the team in 32:12.4.
TSU’s top five also consisted of Zyhir Baker-Elam (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Jamario Scott (Cincinnati, Ohio) with times of 32:23.0 and 33:14.9.
Tennessee Tech’s Gilbert Boit won the individual event in 24:20.9 with Easter Kentucky (37 points) taking the team crown.
