Flying Tigers Complete Cross Country Season at OVC Championships

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. ---  The Flying Tigers closed out its season at the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championship in Edwardsville, Illinois, Saturday morning on the SIUE cross country course in 40 degree weather. 

Tennessee State finished 12th with 377 points led by Nashville sophomore John Frierson who  finished the 8k (4.97 miles) in 29:41, placing 86th , beating last year’s championship time by 45.3 seconds.

Thomas Mosley crossed the finish line in 30:50, followed closely by freshman Jacob Miller, who finished 97th, clocking a time of 31:29 and Zebeedee Lunsford just fourteen seconds behind Miller, 31:43.

Quinsontro Irby, Jr. rounded out the scoring five with a time of 34:13.

The Flying Tigers move onto the Indoor Track and Field season with the Blue and White meet on Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. on the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track inside the Gentry Center.
