Buchanan, Tenn. --- Senior Chris Seibel led the Tigers and finished fifth as the Tennessee State University men’s golf team picked up a seventh place finish at the Skyhawk Classic held at Paris Landing Golf Course in Buchanan, Tenn.
The Tigers shot an overall 883 (295-292-296) in the 90 player field that was made up of 16 teams from 14 different universities and 10 individuals.
Senior Chris Seibel shot an impressive 5-under par 211 with an opening round score of 71 and 70 in the final two rounds. His score was good for a fifth place finish.
Freshman Cameron Scitern finished tied for 23rd with a 220. He shot 72 in round one before carding a 75 and 73. Sophomore Dorian Vauls placed 40th with a 224 (76-72-76) while junior Ryan Smith notched a 232 (76-75-81) and a 69th place finish. Richard Gill rounded out the scorers for TSU with a 234 (82-75-77). He finished in 74th.
Central Arkansas won the overall tournament with a score of 839 while OVC opponents Murray State (847) and Tennessee Tech (871) finished second and third, respectively. Host UT Martin finished ninth with a score of 890.
