JACKSON, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State men’s gold team began the spring portion of their season at the Grover Page Classic. The Tigers placed eighth after firing an 83-over, 947, at the Par-72, 6,776 yard Jackson Country Club.
The host team, UT Martin, claimed the team title as they posted a 9-over, 873, ahead of second place Samford, who shot a 22-over, 886.
Senior Jermey Fultz (76-72-79=227) led the Tigers finishing 20th in the field of 47. Scotty Hudson (80-73-80=233) in his first competition as a Tiger scored in all three rounds as well as sophomore Rosario Falzone (84-79-83=246).
Freshman John Tyminski (89-75-85=249) recorded scoring rounds for the Tigers in the second and third rounds in his first tournament. Sophomore Drew Owens (81-81-85=247) scored for TSU during the morning session on Monday.
The Tigers will travel to Sevierville, Tenn. to take part in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee Tech. The three day event will begin on Sunday, Mar.19.
