SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State men’s golf team cut four strokes from the first round, but fell to ninth on day two of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Monday afternoon. The Tigers dropped two spots after shooting a 12-over, 300, as they head into the final day of competition.
Jermey Fultz carded an Even, 72, and is 14th after two rounds at 3-over. Fultz is three strokes out of the top 10. The senior hit 15 greens and 12 fairways as he averaged fewer than two putts per hole. Fultz missed out on a hole in one on the par-3, 11th, as he hit a 9-iron from 138 out to 2 inches. Fultz finished the day with three birdies.
John Tyminski fired a 2-over, 74, on Monday and sits 27th at 7-over. Todd McGill scored a 4-over, 76, hitting nine greens and 10 fairways. McGill earned birdie on No. 6 as he sank a 10 foot putt after hitting an 8-iron to the green.
Scotty Hudson (81-78=159) scored for the Tigers with a 6-over, 78. Sam Gatlin shot a non-scoring 9-over, 81.
The final round will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning.
