My TSU Experience: Drew Owens

Drew Owens was a member of the men’s golf team for four years. This season, he matched his career low of 67, in the second round of the Murray State Invitational. The Atlanta, Ga. product grabbed a pair of fourth place finishes this season and highlighted his career with an individual championship at the PGA Minority Championships during his freshman campaign.Owens graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He plans to continue work in real estate and hopes to tap into corporate real estate acquisitions. Drew shared his experience with tsutigers.com.

TSUTigers: Talk about your overall TSU experience.
A: I have thoroughly enjoyed it and love everyone I’ve met.

A: The people.

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?
A: The people/staff

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable moment in your sport at TSU?
A: Winning the PGA Minority Championship

TSUTigers: What are some accomplishments/goals that you reached at TSU?
A: Graduating

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?
A: Be social, everyone is great. Get to know your professors.

TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU?
A: Defiitely biology.

TSUTigers: Who was your favorite professor?
A: Dr. Unni and Dr. Fawaz

TSUTigers: Who have been the most influential people to you at TSU?
A: Coach McGrath, the entire athletics department

A: Work

TSUTigers: Once you are an alumnus, how will you stay connected with TSU?
A: Continued support of the sports programs

TSUTigers: What do you know now that you didn’t know coming in as a freshman?
A: School is easier if you are close with your professors.

TSUTigers: What have you learned at TSU that you will keep with you for the rest of your life?
A: Marketing knowledge
