BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- For the second week in a row, Tennessee State track and field senior Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) was recognized for his standout performance by earning Ohio Valley Conference Co-Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Wednesday. Prince also took home OVC Track Athlete of the Week on Jan. 11.
Prince won the 800m at the Kentucky Invitational on Jan. 14, besting the second-place finisher by nearly two seconds. His time of 1:50.54 is the fastest in the OVC this indoor season and ranks ninth in the nation. He also ran a leg of the 4x400m relay that took fourth with a time of 3:19.85 at the Kentucky Invitational.
Prince and the Flying Tigers return to the track on Jan. 20-21 for the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville.
