BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- Tennessee State men’s track and field senior Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) was honored for his performance at the Music City Challenge by earning adidas Ohio Valley Conference Co-Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Wednesday. It is the fourth time Prince has been recognized with an OVC weekly award this indoor season.
Prince earned a second-place finish (first among collegiate runners) in the 800m at the Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt. His time of 1:48.44 is the best by an OVC runner this year and is the 24th best time in the nation. He also ran a leg of the 4x400m relay that finished fourth with a time of 3:13.85, also the top time in the league this year.
Next up for Prince and the Flying Tigers is the OVC Indoor Championship on Feb. 24-25 in Charleston, Ill.
