Flying Tigers Shine with Seven Top-10 finishes in First Outdoor Meet of the Season

FINAL RESULTS

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State men's track and field team rolled out a dominating start to the outdoor season at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

At Georgia Tech, the Flying Tigers earned seven top-10 finishes, including a second place finish by sophomore R'Lazon Brumfield in the triple jump with a mark of 52-00.00. Brumfield also finished sixth in the long jump (23-01.75).

Redshirt-junior Ashley Bailey blazed around the track Saturday to finish fifth in the 400-meter hurdles. Bailey crossed the finish line with a time of 55.07 seconds. Teammate Desmond Tanner crept into the top-10 at No. 9 in the 400m hurdles (56.42).

In a competitive and crowded field of 33 competitors, Damon Hodge. Jr. placed 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.08.
