The Tennessee State University women's track and field team won four titles from 2001 to 2003 including two in the outdoor conference championship and two in the indoor competition.The Tigerbelles dominated 2008 claiming both the Indoor and Outdoor titles. TSU also won in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
The run started in 2001 when the Tigerbelles took home the Outdoor OVC Championship. It was the first of nine titles for Head Coach Chandra Cheeseborough-Guice.
Strong performances in the jumping contests, shot put and sprints earned the Tigerbelles 128.5 points, helping them edge Southeast Missouri by 6.5 points.
The group's next title came eight months later in the conference's indoor championship. The Tigerbelles became the fourth different team to claim the women's indoor championship in four years, tallying 159 points and the first indoor title in school history.
The victory gave Cheeseborough-Guice her first OVC Indoor Coach of the Year Award.
Following their indoor title, the Tigerbelles defended their outdoor title three months later in the conference championship.
Having secured back-to-back titles in the outdoor competition, the Tigerbelles turned their focus on repeating as indoor champions in 2003.
Since 2001, Tennessee State has won nine Ohio Valley Conference Championships under the leadership of Cheeseborough.
