OPENING SERVE: The Tennessee State volleyball team will go into the Ohio Valley Conference tournament as the number six seed and play the third seeded Austin Peay Governors in the first round of the tournament.

LAST TIME OUT: TSU would drop a 3-1 match to Eastern Kentucky in the last regular season game. The Tigers finished the season with a 17-15 record and an 8-8 conference record. Chloe Watson and Arijana Anderson both registered 11 kills against the Colonels, while Taylor Patterson led the team with 13 digs. Payten Clark was announced as the Newcomer of the Week for her efforts against EKU and Morehead State.

SCOUTING AUSTIN PEAY: The Governors were picked to finish 11th in the conference in the preseason; but finished the regular season in third place. Nashville native Ashley Slay leads the team with 199 kills in conference while also registering 45 blocks. Ginny Gerig is the team leader with 231 digs in OVC matches.

TSU IN TOURNAMENT: Since 1987 the Tigers are 6-16 in conference tournament play. TSU won a match against EKU before losing to Murray State in the semi-finals last season.

ALL TIME VS AUSTIN PEAY: In the all-time series versus the Governors TSU is 10-44. Tennessee State lost a match earlier this season to Austin Peay by a 3-0 score.

UP NEXT: The semi-finals are set for Friday Nov. 18 at 4:30 p.m. The winner of the TSU/APSU match will play the winner of the SIUE/Morehead State game. The finals will be played on Saturday Nov. 19 at 7.pm.
