NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University redshirt junior Tia Wooten was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday for her performance last week.
Wooten led TSU in scoring in the season opener against the University of Memphis with a career-high 33 points. The 6-0, Forward also hauled in 11 rebounds for a double-double.
The Memphis, Tenn. native shot 60 percent from the field (12-of -20) and knocked down 9-of-12 from the free-throw line. She also had one steal and one block in the contest.
Earlier in the week, Wooten was named the Ohio Valley Sports Madness Player of the Week. The award marks the first OVC Player of the Week honor of her career.
