STARTING LINE: The Tennessee State men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete in the Louisville Sports Commission Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1, in the final tune-up before the Ohio Valley Conference Championships. The men’s team will runs its second 8K of the season with the women taking part in their fourth 5K.
LAST TIME OUT: At TSU’s last meet, the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival on Sept. 24, the women’s team earned eighth place while the men took ninth. Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) placed 13th overall on the men’s side with a time of 22:32 in the four-mile race. For the women, Christian Pryor (Ellenwood, Ga.) paced the pack for the Tigerbelles, clocking in at 21:49 in the 5K.
MAKING HISTORY: Following his performance at last weekend’s Austin Peay Cross Country Festival, senior Quamel Prince (Nashville, Tenn.) became the first-ever TSU student-athlete to earn Ohio Valley Conference Male Cross Country Runner of the Week.
