Tigerbelles Improve Times at Austin Peay Cross Country Festival

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.  --- Competing in the 5K at the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival on Saturday at the Hilldale Family Life Center, the Tennessee State women’s cross country team had a number of individuals post season-best times.

As a team, the Tigerbelles placed fifth in the field with 132 points.

Rebekah Wynn secured 28th place with her season-best 5K time of 21:30.59 to lead all TSU competitors on the day.

Zion White (36th place) and Grenetria Shell (37th place) finished less than one second apart in 24:28.33 and 24:28.38, respectively. Both of their times were personal bests.

TSU’s next finishers on the day were Elaina Verges (38th – 24:28.47) and Kelsea Buchanan (39th – 24:28.57).

The Tigerbelles are back in action for the Fast Cats Classic on Oct. 6 in Owensboro, Ky.
