TSU Women's Cross Country Takes 12th at OVC Championship

RESULTS

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. --- The Tennessee State women’s cross country team capped the 2018 season with a 12th place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on Saturday. As a team, the Tigerbelles scored 375 points in the 5K.

Sophomore Rebekah Wynn crossed the finish line in 90th place, clocking in at 22:42.8. Fellow sophomore Zion White secured 91st with a season-best 5K time of 22:59.1.

TSU’s final three finishers – Grenetria Shell, Elaina Verges and Kelsea Buchanan – all posted season bests. Shell turned in a 23:27.3 finish for 93rd with Verges (23:33.6 – 94th) and Buchanan (23:34.0 – 95th) close behind.

TSU will now turn its attention to the indoor track and field season beginning with the Blue and White Meet on Nov. 14 at the Gentry Center.
