Gerald Robinson Sr.
Gerald Robinson has served as men's and women's tennis coach at Tennessee State University since the 1987 season.

Robinson and the TSU program are welcoming a new state of-the-art facility on which the team will begin playing in the 2006 spring season. The facility will give the Tiger coach and his program one of the top facilities for college tennis.

A native from Mobile, Alabama, he was an outstanding athlete at Toulminville High School. He was a four-sport participant who played basketball, wide receiver and defensive back on the football team, centerfield and shortstop on the baseball team. He excelled in track as a sprinter, running the 100, 200, and the 400-yard dashes.

He earned his B.S. Degree in Health Physical Education and Recreation in May, 1981. He was awarded his M.A. degree in Supervision and Education Administration from Tennessee State University in August, 1986.

He began his coaching career as an assistant baseball coach under his brother Allen Robinson from 1978-88. He served as men's and women's cross-country coach from 1987-94. In addition, he served as women's volleyball coach during the 1992-93 season.

Gerald is married to the former Algenor Brown, and they are the parents of TSU men's basketball standout, Gerald Jr.
