CHARLESTON, Ill. --- Amber Hughes (Atlanta, Ga.) won three gold medals for the Tennessee State women’s track and field team on Saturday as the Tigerbelles earned a third place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championship.

As a team, TSU won six individual medals to go with one in the 4x400m relay, finishing with 110 points for third overall. The host team Eastern Illinois won the team competition with 125 points.

On the track, Hughes was dominant, taking first in the 60m and 60m hurdles in addition to a second-place finish in the 200m. Hughes clocked in at 7.44 to win gold in the 60m and also had the day’s best time in the 60m hurdles in 8.30. Hughes’ 200m time of 24.24 was good for second overall and the silver medal. The senior All-American also took gold in the triple jump with a distance of 12.83m (42’1.25”).

The Tigerbelles picked up silver medals in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:47.41 thanks to the performances of Hughes, Christian Pryor (Ellenwood, Ga.), Kayla Pryor (Ellenwood, Ga.) and Alexia King (Atlanta, Ga.).

For Christian Pryor, it was her second silver medal of the day. Earlier on Saturday, Pryor ran a time of 2:13.21 in the 800m, finishing less than two seconds out of first place.

In the 60m hurdles, Maya Ramsey (Atlanta, Ga.) won the bronze with her third-place time of 8.56.
