ATLANTA --- Continuing her standout redshirt freshman season, Mikayla Thompson secured second place in the shot put on Friday for the Tennessee State women’s track and field team on the first day of the Georgia Tech Invitational at the George C. Griffin Track.
- Thompson was the top collegiate finisher in the field with a distance of 14.46m (47’5.25”) in the shot put. The freshman finished just over three feet off from the first-place finisher.
- In the 100m, Lakeia Hill clocked in at 12.25, tying her best time of the season - also the best for a Tigerbelle this season. Amber McCroskey had her best 100m time of the outdoor season of 12.28.
- Kyla Jimmar set a new personal record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.29. It is the best time for TSU this season. Grenetria Shell also posted her top 100m hurdles time of the season in 14.57.
- Action at the Georgia Tech Invitational wraps up tomorrow.
