Tigerbelles Conclude Georgia Tech Invitational


ATLANTA --- Day two of the Georgia Tech Invitational included a number of strong performances for the Tennessee State women’s track and field team on Saturday.

  • Angel Horton picked up a third place finish in the triple jump thanks to a distance of 12.00m (39’3.75”). The mark is her best this outdoor season.
  • Cyra Beard, who also took home seventh in the triple jump, tied for fourth place in the high jump after clearing the bar set at 1.68m (5’6”).
  • In the discus, Amani Taylor reached 43.55m (142’10”) for sixth place on the day.
  • On the track, the team of Kyla Jimmar,­ Amber McCroskey, Angel Horton and Lakeia Hill put together a 46.74 finish for fifth place in the 4x100m relay.
  • Next up for the Tigerbelles is the Memphis Invitational set for April 27-28.
