My TSU Experience: Hannah Alsup

A four-year member of the Tigerbelles, Hannah Alsup improved throughout her time on with the Tennessee State women’s track and field team. A native of nearby Murfreesboro, Tenn. Alsup set new personal records in the shot put, hammer, discus and weight throw. In the classroom, Alsup earned OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Hannah graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in Human Performance and Sports Science on May 5. She recently shared her college experience with tsutigers.com

A: A life-changing experience that molded me into the woman I am today

TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU?
A: The family-like culture

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?
A: My teammates

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable moment in your sport at TSU?
A: Winning OVC my freshman year

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-sport moment at TSU?
A: Homecoming freshman year

TSUTigers: What are some accomplishments/goals that you reached at TSU?
A: Dean’s list, commissioners honor roll, scoring at OVC

TSUTigers: Do you have a favorite TSU fan/supporter? If so, who?
A: My mom

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?
A: Take advantage of every academic opportunity because sports don’t last forever

TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU?
A: Exercise Physiology

TSUTigers: Who was your favorite professor?
A: Dr. Hamilton

TSUTigers: What organizations were you a part of outside of your sport?
A: My Sister’s Keeper, President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes

A: Dr. Harriett Hamilton

A: Grad School at Belmont

A: Reaching out to my teammates

A: How mentally tough I am

A: Adversity is a nonfactor
