TSU Track and Field Displays Solid Performance on Day One of Vanderbilt Invite

DAY 1 RESULTS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee State men’s and women’s track team jumped out to a solid start on day one of the Vanderbilt Invitational Friday at the Multipurpose Facility. The team closed out the opening day with three top-5 finishes.

R’Lazon Brumfield placed sixth in the long jump, soaring to a distance of 7.46m. He also finished in 17th place in the 200-meter run with a time of 22.21.

Tigerbelle Lakeia Hill churned around the track in the 200m to place ninth (24.85). Sophomore Jalyn Bowen tied for ninth in the high jump, clearing 1.65m.

The Flying Tigers and Tigerbelles will pick back up the action on day two of the Vanderbilt Invitational. The first event begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
