NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State University women's basketball team got off to a slow start and despite nearly matching Morehead State point-for-point in the second half, fell to the Eagles 74-49 Thursday night in the Gentry Center.
TSU fell behind by as many as 28 points and nearly cut that deficit in half but could not get over the hump.
Andreana Wrister led TSU in scoring with 14 points while
Taylor Roberts added 10.
Jaden Wrightsell had nine points and five rebounds while Broner also recorded five rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- TSU used a quick timeout after falling behind 9-0 in the first quarter.
- Out of the break, a three-point play by Taylor Roberts sparked a 7-0 run that cut pulled the Lady Tigers to within two.
- The momentum shifted back to the visitors as TSU got outscored, 12-4 the rest of the period.
- TSU trailed 21-11 heading into the second frame and the offensive struggles continued in the next quarter.
- With about four minutes left on the clock, MSU hit its fifth triple of the game to open the lead up to, 37-16.
- TSU was outscored, 21-8 in the second quarter and trailed 42-19 at halftime.
- Down by 28, TSU tried to work its way out of the hole.
- Andreana Wrister scored in the paint to cut the deficit down to 20.
