NASHVILLE — Looking to snap a three-game losing skid, the Tennessee State women's basketball team is set to host Morehead State on Monday evening at the Gentry Center at 5 p.m.
MOREHEAD STATE SERIES INFORMATION: TSU it looking for its second season series sweep of the season as they host Morehead State on Monday evening. This contest was originally scheduled for Jan.15. Morehead State holds a 38-27 all-time series lead over TSU and has won nine of the last 10 meetings.
Tatyana Davis led the Lady Tigers with 17 points in 23 minutes of the bench in the first meeting on Jan.1. Sierra McCullough pulled down 12 rebounds in the 58-34 road win for the Lady Tigers. Jada Claude led Morehead State with nine points.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES: Morehead State is 1-18 on the year and has lost its last 16 contests. The Eagles are being outscored in OVC play by 25.8 points. Claude is averaging 15.2 points and 7.4 rebounds through nine conference games. Claude is at 12.8 points and 7.3 rebounds through 19 overall games.
BELMONT SERIES INFORMATION: Belmont has won the previous 11 games and holds a 38-11 all-time series lead over its crosstown rival. TSU's last victory came on Feb. 28, 2015, a 70-53 win on the road.
SCOUTING THE BRUINS: Belmont is seeking its 12th win when they head down the street to face the Lady Tigers on Thursday. The Bruins are 1-2 in their last three games falling to Tennessee Tech and Austin Peay before defeating state foe UT Martin on Saturday. Destinee Wells, Tuti Jones and Madison Bartley are all averaging double figures for the Bruins. Wells, the OVC Preseason Player of the Year, is averaging 15.2 points per game while Jones is at 11.4 and Bartley is right behind at 11.3.
CAREER NIGHT FOR DAVIS: Tatyana Davis had a career night with 29 points in a loss at SIUE last Thursday. Earlier in the year, Davis set a then career-high with 25 points against Tennessee Tech. Davis leads the Lady Tigers with 13.6 points per game.
ROARING 20S FOR ADAMS: Gia Adams finished with 22 points in the loss to Eastern Illinois on Saturday. Adams has reached 20 or more points four times this season. Her season-best of 23 points was achieved in the overtime win over Tennessee Tech on Dec. 30. Adams is second on the team in points (13.4) behind Davis.
