Football Falls in Home Finale to UT Martin

NASHVILLE - Jahsun Bryant tallied 16 tackles in Tennessee State's 20-3 loss to UT Martin at home Saturday afternoon.

UT Martin improved to 6-4 on the year and 4-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play, while TSU fell to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in conference matchups.

Jalen Rouse led all TSU rushers with 57 yards in the contest, picking up 7.1 yards per carry. 

Ellis' most prolific target in the ballgame was Karate Brenson, who caught five passes for 70 yards.

Bryant led TSU defensively with his 16 tackles, nine of them solo, and 3.0 TFL, one interception, and one forced fumble. Terray Jones added 0.5 TFL, 0.5 sacks, and one recovered fumble and Terrell Allen tacked on nine tackles, 4.5 TFL, and one sack.

Defensively, Tennessee State held up fairly well against the UT Martin passing attack, holding the UTM to 182 yards through the air.

How It Happened

Tennessee State responded to an early 14-0 UT Martin lead with a second-quarter field goal to narrow the deficit to 14-3. Tennessee State didn't score again in the game and UT Martin tacked on six more points to finish off the scoring.
