NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State softball team dropped the final doubleheader of the season, 11-0 and 3-1 to UT Martin on Sunday afternoon at Tiger Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP 1ST: Kali Pickens cleared the bases with a double to left field to give the Skyhawks a 3-0 lead. ||
UTM, 3-0
TOP 4TH: UT Martin added four runs in the fourth on five hits. Avry Blume, Maddie Long and Emily Gilstrap each singled to open the inning before Paige Clark singled up the middle to score Blume. Shyanne Sheffield then knocked in a one-out single that plated Clark and Gilstrap. The visitors scored their final run on Kaitlyn Kelley's sacrifice fly.

TOP 6TH: Sheffield added her third RBI of the contest with a single followed by a RBI flyout by Kelley that nearly went over the wall but a great leaping catch by TSU center fielder Marissa Mauroschadt only allowed one run. Kali Pickens then scorched a triple to left field and scored on a two-run homer by Katie Dreiling. ||

BOT 1ST: TSU picked up three hits in the first inning and capitalized on
Peyton Fointno's double down the left field line that scored
Lauren Farias. ||
TIED, 1-1
TOP 7TH: A pair of singles by Sheffield and Pickens opened up the inning for the Skyhawks. Katie Dreiling won the game for UTM with a hit that went through TSU's first baseman and allowed Sheffield and Pickens to score.
