Erica Haynes-Overton was named the OVC Player of the Week and the OVC Newcomer of the Week as the league announced the honors Tuesday morning. This marks EHO's third Newcomer of the Week award and her first Player of the Week honor.
The Nashville native averaged 25.0 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, 4.0 steals, 1.5 assists, and she shot 58.6 percent from the floor in two games this past week.
The Kansas transfer had her second 30-point scoring game of the season as she finished with 30 points (11-of-16) against SIUE, with seven rebounds, and three assists. She finished with 20 points in the comeback win against Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon, with five steals and two assists. Saturday marked her sixth 20+ point performance of the season.
Haynes-Overton is third in the league in scoring with 14.9 points per outing, and third in steals per game with 2.3.
TSU and Haynes-Overton will be back at home for the first time in 2023 on Thursday evening as they are set to host UT Martin. Tip-off from the Gentry Center is slated for 5:30 p.m.
