LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Tennessee State cross country continued its 2026 campaign Friday at the Louisville Cross Country Classic, with the Tiger men and women competing in the Silver races at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.

The men opened the day in the 8K, led by freshman Landon Gragg, before freshman Jurnee Rutherford paced the women in the 5K.

Men's 8K

Gragg led the way for Tennessee State, crossing the line in 27:40.4 to finish 59th overall.

Delton White was the next Tiger across the line, clocking a 28:38.8, while senior Eric Brannon followed just behind in 28:40.1.

Aaron Davis finished in 29:26.3, followed by freshmen Maxwell Myers and Marcel Lake, who crossed just four-tenths of a second apart at 29:42.2 and 29:42.6, respectively.

Landon Thrasher rounded out TSU's sub-30-minute finishers with a time of 29:53.8. Jayden Batts finished in 31:24.8, while Kylen Thorps completed the Tigers' lineup with a 33:51.2.

Tennessee State finished 21st in the team standings with 517 points.

Women's 5K

Rutherford led Tennessee State in the women's race, turning in a 21:47.1 to finish 86th overall. The freshman made a strong push over the closing portion of the course, moving up 14 positions from the 3.9K checkpoint to the finish.

Justice Scott followed as TSU's second finisher with a time of 23:36.7, while senior Haley Blades crossed in 24:12.0.

Chelsea Knox and Qiersten McClain completed the Tigers' scoring five with back-to-back finishes. Knox clocked a 28:13.6, with McClain crossing less than a second later in 28:14.5.

Tennessee State finished 22nd in the team standings with 618 points.
