Tigers to Watch

Somah Kamara | Guard

Kamara has established herself as a leading offensive option through Tennessee State's first two contests. After opening the season with a team-high 24 points against Toccoa Falls, she followed with 16 points at William & Mary.

Through two games, Kamara is averaging 20.0 points per contest and has scored in double figures in both outings.

Genesis Harris | Guard

Harris continues to provide a consistent perimeter threat for the Tigers, averaging 15.5 points through the opening two games.

After scoring 17 points in the season opener, Harris added 14 at William & Mary, shooting 4-of-6 from 3-point range. She has combined for 31 points through Tennessee State's first two games.

LaKiara Alexander | Forward

Alexander delivered a strong performance on the glass against William & Mary, collecting a game-high 11 rebounds while adding eight points. Her presence in the paint will be important as Tennessee State faces an Old Dominion team that emphasizes rebounding.

Scouting Old Dominion

Old Dominion opened its 2026-27 campaign with a 62-58 road victory over Central Michigan in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge.

The Monarchs are led by head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones, who earned her 150th career coaching victory in the season-opening win.

Mia Davis and Trinity Vance paced Old Dominion with 15 points apiece, while Shadasia Brackens contributed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Dalanna Carter added 10 points.

Old Dominion established a strong presence on the glass in its opener, collecting 54 rebounds and holding Central Michigan to 25.6 percent shooting from the field.
