NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State women's tennis team closes the regular season and shifts its focus to postseason play as the Tigers travel to St. Louis, Missouri, for the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Women's Tennis Championship, set for April 17–19 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

Tennessee State enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with a 1-4 mark in OVC play and a 1-13 overall record.

Tournament Matchup

The Tigers will open tournament play Friday in the quarterfinal round against No. 3 seed Bryant. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.

The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinal round, while the championship match will be contested Sunday afternoon to determine the conference's automatic NCAA Tournament qualifier.

Momentum Shift

Despite a challenging season, Tennessee State showed growth late in conference action. The Tigers secured a dramatic 4-3 victory at Southern Indiana on April 3, earning their first OVC win of the season and demonstrating resilience heading into postseason competition.

Throughout the spring, TSU faced a demanding schedule that included matches against regional and Power Five-level competition, helping prepare the squad for championship play.

Postseason Focus

With the postseason reset, the Tigers look to capitalize on the opportunity that comes with tournament tennis — where every match starts fresh and momentum can shift quickly.

Strong singles performances and competitive doubles play will be key as Tennessee State aims to make a run through the bracket in St. Louis.
