Dawnyell Fletcher

Dawnyell Fletcher was hired to the newly created position of Director of Student-Athlete Services in the Summer of 2022. In this position, she is responsible for developing programming focused on enhancing the holistic development of student-athletes at Tennessee State University.

Prior to arriving at Tennessee State University, Dawnyell Fletcher served as the Director of Tutoring and Athletics Learning Specialist at Vanderbilt.  Additionally, she served on the Vanderbilt Diversity Council and is an active member of the Learning Concerns Enhancement Committee of N4A.

Prior to working at Vanderbilt, Fletcher worked in various Athletic Academic Support positions at the Memphis, N.C. State, and South Carolina.

Fletcher earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of the track and field team, receiving All-American honors.  She then went on to the University of Memphis to earn a master’s degree in Sport and Leisure Commerce.

Outside of Vanderbilt, Fletcher is involved in organizations including Nashville Organized for Action and Hope and the North Nashville Organization for Community Improvement.
