SOPHOMORE: Led TSU in scoring with 30 points...converted on 12-of-13 extra points...6-for-8 on field goal attempts with a long of 45-yards...6-for-7 inside of 50 yards...had a 42.7 average on three punts...enticed fair catches on all three punts...two punts pinned inside the 20-yard-line...HIGH SCHOOL...Two-time All-District performer at Rowlett High...converted 18 of 25 field goals his final two seasons...had a long of 47 yards as a Senior and 46 his senior year...made all 19 extra point attempts as a senior and 20 of 21 tries as a Senior...had a net punting average of 38 yards...Special Teams Player of the Year and was named Special Teams Player of the Week 11 times in two seasons...member of National Honor Society...named to the All-Rowlett Academic Achievement his Senior and senior years...

PERSONAL: Majoring in mass communications...chose TSU because of the opportunity to contribute right away, the coaching staff, administration and the location of the university.....son of Kelly and Chris Benson...born 5-8-87.
