Julius McNair joined Tennessee State University in July 2024 as the Assistant AD for Strategic Initiatives, bringing a wealth of experience from his tenure as the Associate Athletic Director for Development at UT Martin where he spent the last four years.
During his time at UTM, McNair served on the diversity, equity, & inclusion committee within the UT Foundation and played a pivotal role in closing a campus-wide campaign of $175 million in FY 2023. His fundraising efforts were highlighted by securing a $1.5 million gift from Pepsi MidAmerica and raising over $3.5 million in total.
McNair's connection with Skyhawk Athletics runs deep, having been a student-athlete and assistant football coach at UT Martin. He played football for the Skyhawks from 2008 to 2012 and later served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 2014 to 2018. McNair's professional journey also included roles at Hampton University and the University of Richmond, where he continued to build on his coaching and administrative experience.
A native of Mt. Olive, Mississippi, McNair earned his degree in interdisciplinary studies from UT Martin in 2013.
