Nick Andrews enters his second season as Tennessee State’s wide receivers coach after helping several Tigers produce standout campaigns in 2025.
Under Andrews’ direction, DeVaughn Slaughter led TSU with 55 receptions and 551 receiving yards while catching three touchdowns. Snap Reed emerged as another top target, recording 35 receptions for 376 yards and a team-high four receiving touchdowns in nine games. Reed closed the season with a nine-catch, 107-yard, two-touchdown performance against Gardner-Webb. Brock Montgomery added 20 receptions for 203 yards, while Tyson Edwards averaged a team-best 16.0 yards per reception.
A former Alabama State standout and two-time All-SWAC receiver, Andrews most recently served as defensive coordinator at Clay-Chalkville High School, one of Alabama’s premier prep football programs, before joining Tennessee State.
A Maplesville, Alabama, native, Andrews brings more than 14 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels. Throughout his career, he has emphasized discipline, accountability, leadership and personal development while helping student-athletes grow on and off the field.
Andrews earned his bachelor’s degree from Alabama State University in 2012. He is the proud father of his daughter, Nyomi Amor Andrews, who remains his greatest motivation and inspiration.
