OPENING TIP: Tennessee State women's basketball has qualified for the OVC Tournament for the third consecutive season. The Lady Tigers have reached the quarterfinals twice, both times as the No. 8 seed. Wednesday's matchup will mark the third meeting this season against Southern Indiana, whom TSU defeated last Saturday to secure a tournament berth.

SERIES INFORMATION VS. SOUTHERN INDIANA: Following Saturday's victory, TSU and Southern Indiana are tied 3-3 in the all-time series heading into the OVC Tournament.

WHY NOT KAMARA?: Freshman Somah Kamara ranked ninth in scoring among all OVC players, averaging 13.5 points per game. In conference play, she averaged 12.4 points per game and ranked 11th in steals with 1.79 per contest. 

SOUTHERN INDIANA BY THE NUMBERS: 

42: Tennessee State dominated the glass, outrebounding Southern Indiana 42-31. Saniah Parker led the way with eight boards, helping TSU control second-chance opportunities.

69.2%: TSU caught fire in the third quarter, shooting an impressive 69.2% (9-of-13) from the field, including 50% from beyond the arc, to take control of the game.

25: The Tigers got a major lift from their reserves, who contributed 25 points, led by XaiOnna Whitfield's 15-point performance off the bench.

18: TSU capitalized on Southern Indiana's mistakes, converting 10 steals into 18 points, helping maintain their lead throughout the game.

90%: The Tigers sealed the win at the line, hitting 9-of-10 free throws in the final period to hold off Southern Indiana's late push.
