Played in eight contests, starting once against Jackson State (Sept. 13)… Made four stops on the year (two solo)… Had a career-high two tackles in the Southern Heritage Classic… Recorded a solo stop versus UT Martin (Oct. 18)… Made an assist at Austin Peay (Nov. 8)… Contributed to the OVC’s top total defense (303.2 yards per game) and pass defense (153.3 yards per game)…

Saw action in five games in reserve duty and as part of special teams units.

2011

Won Big 12 All-Freshman honors from Rivals in his 1st year of action ... Saw action in all 13 games in his redshirt freshman campaign ... Made 9 total tackles on the season, and wrapped up the year by making 1 stop in the Independence Bowl against North Carolina ... Recorded two solo tackles at Baylor on Nov. 5 ... Had two tackles against both Texas Tech Western Illinois ... Also had tackles against Oklahoma State and Texas A&M...

Made his mark at the prep level playing at defensive back and linebacker ... Ranked by ESPN.com as the nation’s No. 41 prep safety prospect ... Rivals.com ranked him as the No. 16 overall player at any position in the state of Michigan, and as the nation’s No. 81 prep prospect at the athlete position ... Scout.com ranked him as the nation’s No. 89 safety prospect ... Won All-State honors in each of his last two seasons ... Turned in 123 tackles, 4 forced fumbles and 14 pass break ups playing both safety and linebacker during his senior season in 2009 ... During his junior season, had 83 total tackles, and added 15 pass break ups, three interceptions, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries ... Also was an outstanding performer in track, as he won all-state honors multiple times
