LADY TIGERS SWEEP EKU

RICHMOND, Ky.---The TSU volleyball team swept the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky 3-0 (30-27, 30-24, 30-26) Saturday evening at McBrayer Arena. With the win the Lady Tigers improve to 5-7 (3-1 OVC) while the Colonels fall to 1-13 (0-4 OVC). Both teams battled from the onset of game one. The score went back and forth until EKU pulled ahead 24-18. The Lady Tigers would not go away and managed to cut the deficit down to two points (25-27). TSU would go on to score the last five points of the game on four EKU attack errors and a kill by Kelly Davis to claim the win. TSU scored the first point in the second game of the match and never relinquished the lead. Game three was more of the same as the Colonels were never able to recover. TSU grabbed leads of 15-10 and 21-16 before handing EKU the game three and match defeat. Kelly Davis recorded a match-high 10 kills while Endia Oliver just missed a double-double with nine kills and 10 blocks. Kamille King led TSU with 16 digs. The Lady Tigers return to Nashville to face cross town opponent Lipscomb on Tuesday, September 25. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Allen Arena.
