VIEW THE FULL TENNESSEE STATE ATHLETICS MEDIA CREDENTIAL & ACCESS POLICY — Below is a condensed version of the Media Credential and Access Policy.

Tennessee State Athletics Media Credentials

Tennessee State University Athletics welcomes coverage from professional and accredited news organizations. Media credentials are issued to working media members covering TSU Athletics on assignment and are intended for editorial use only.

Submitting a credential request does not guarantee approval, parking, field or sideline access, or access to a specific media working area. All requests are reviewed by Tennessee State Athletics Media Relations based on the applicant’s assignment, outlet, professional standards, available space and event requirements.

Credential Eligibility

Priority may be given to established news organizations, television and radio outlets, newspapers, wire services, recognized digital publications, approved photographers and videographers, student media and outlets regularly covering TSU or the visiting institution.

Digital outlets, podcasts and freelance media members may be considered based on their history of original reporting, editorial oversight and professional standards. Freelancers may be required to provide confirmation of an assignment from a recognized news organization.

Follower counts, social media engagement, membership in a media association or previous credential approval do not automatically qualify an applicant.

Credential Use and Conduct

Credentials are issued to a specific individual and are non-transferable. Credentialed media members must:

  • Remain in authorized working areas.
  • Follow directions from TSU Athletics, university, security and venue personnel.
  • Conduct themselves professionally.
  • Avoid cheering, disruptive behavior or interference with event operations.
  • Follow all photography, video, livestreaming and broadcast restrictions.

Credentials do not provide access to locker rooms, team meeting rooms, athletic training areas, coaches’ offices, team transportation, hotels, recruiting areas or team bench areas unless specifically authorized.

Interviews and Practices

All interview and practice requests must be coordinated through Tennessee State Athletics Media Relations. Media members should not contact student-athletes directly to arrange interviews.

Practice access may be open, limited or closed at the discretion of the head coach and TSU Athletics. Postgame interviews will be coordinated by Media Relations in a designated interview area. Team locker rooms are closed unless otherwise authorized.

Photography, Video and Sideline Access

Field, sideline and courtside access is limited to approved individuals whose assignments require that access. A general media credential does not include field or sideline access.

Photographers and videographers must remain in designated areas, avoid team bench areas and comply with all TSU, Ohio Valley Conference, NCAA and venue regulations. Live video, livestreaming and continuous or real-time distribution of game action are prohibited unless specifically authorized.

Media Parking

Media parking is limited, issued separately from media credentials and not guaranteed. Approved parking information will be provided directly to recipients. Media members who are not issued parking are responsible for alternate arrangements and any associated fees.
