to a TSU timeout. Down the stretch, the Skyhawks capitalized on a number of Tiger
miscues and pulled out the 25-23 win.
TSU picked up the intensity in the second set, jumping out
to an 8-3 lead. TSU maintained the advantage and led by as many as six before
UTM rallied to within one. With the Tigers holding on to a slight, 24-23, lead
a Skyhawk attack error handed TSU the win.
After playing to a 6-6 tie, TSU took control in the third
set, capturing a 14-9 lead. UTM cut into the TSU lead but the Tigers were able
to keep the Skyhawks at bay. TSU won the set, 25-23.
The fourth set was filled with long rallies and tough
battles. TSU went ahead 17-12 but UTM used a 5-1 run to cut the deficit down to
one (18-17). Moments later, a UTM error sandwiched by kills from Santia Sanders
and Kamille King put TSU back on top, 21-17. The Tigers never trailed again.
