Tigers Lose First Match of the Season

MANHATTAN, Kan. --- The Tennessee State volleyball team dropped its opening game of the K-State Invitational 3-0 to Georgia Tech on Friday night.

Georgia Tech defense and a total of 27 Tiger errors made it hard for TSU to produce. For the match, the Tigers hit for a negative percentage (-.021) with 25 kills on 97 attempts, while the Yellow Jackets hit .295 with 35 kills on 88 attempts.

Senior Chloe Watson, had eight kills and produced a team high of 10.5 points, she also added 13 digs which led the Tigers. Senior Puamana Danielson had 23 assists on the night for TSU. Katora Roberts added seven kills on just 16 attempts.

TSU dropped set one by a score of 25-13. The Tigers caught their breath between set one and set two and competed hard, before ultimately dropping the second set 25-14.

Tennessee State would not go out without a fight. The team jumped out to a 6-0 start in set three. The Tigers did their best to hold off the Yellow Jackets from sweeping them. However, Georgia Tech would prove to be too much and went on to win set three 25-17.
