CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State men's basketball team fell to Austin Peay, Thursday night in the Winfield Dunn Center, 99-74. Freshman guard Mark Freeman scored a team-high 19 points.
The Tigers entered the break down just nine before offensive efficiency fell to just 32 percent from the field and 14 percent from three-point distance during the second half.
The Preseason OVC Player of the Year Terry Taylor, along with freshman guard Jordyn Adams scored 37 points a piece to account for 75 percent of Austin Peay's offense.
Jy'lan Washington added 17 points, nine rebounds for Big Blue, who scored 38 points in the paint.
TSU is now 4-3 in Ohio Valley Conference play, while APSU remains undefeated in the league after seven games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Govs turned the ball over on first possession, giving TSU a chance to score on the opposite end, but a stolen ball at the top of the key led to the first scoring play of the game - a fast break dunk by APSU's Jordyn Adams.
- Freeman dribbled up the open court, drove the lane and dished to Carlos Marshall Jr. for a layup to put TSU on the board.
- Four back-to-back scoring plays - three-pointer APSU, three-pointer Freeman, three-pointer APSU, jumper Freeman.
- The Tigers suffered a three-minute scoring drought, ended by a Jy'lan Washington second-chance layup.
- Adams' 20 points in the first 13 minutes of play, 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, 5-of-5 from the free-throw line summed more than Tennessee State overall. The Govs led 33-19.
- On the fast break, Freeman passed to Washington in deep traffic, who took possession and finished the layup.
